Barbara McIntosh GIS Specialist & Office Administrator Key Strengths/Jobs at Barnes & Associates: Barbara manages the spatial data for our client managed lands with the use of the industry leading Geographic Information System. As the spatial data specialist, Barbara conducts landscape level analysis including harvest unit planning, screening for protected resources and assessment of high risk locations. Barbara’s extensive experience with this GIS software has honed her cartography skills and provides our clients with the highest quality map products to help them make decisions that best meet their land management objectives. In addition to her GIS assignments, Barbara is also responsible for all administrative functions in our Coos Bay office including timber sale contracting, road and silviculture contracting, insurance compliance, invoicing and land record management. Education Background:
  • AS in Computer Information Systems from Southwestern Oregon Community College

Description of Work Experience: Barbara has over 30 years of experience in the timber industry. Before joining Barnes & Associates, she worked for a small private timber company, the local forest fire protection district and a large timberland investment company. In these positions, she supported software implementation and information technology project management. Additionally, she was responsible for coordinating the preparation of long term forest management plans. These plans had to balance timber harvesting with protection of endangered species, fish habitat, green-up constraints, landslide risks, wetland locations, terrain and logging system capabilities.
