Jim Carr Silviculture Manager Key Strengths/Jobs at Barnes & Associates: Jim manages the silviculture program for all Barnes & Associates managed lands. He is responsible for all aspects of post-harvest forest management including site preparation, slash disposal, reforestation, vegetation management and young stand management. His extensive experience has led to innovations in competing vegetation control that assures our client expenses are reasonable and productivity is optimized. Jim is active in numerous research cooperatives and boards to ensure our silviculture prescriptions are prepared with the most current science and technology available. Education Background:

Description of Work Experience: Jim has worked in the timber industry since 1975. He has worked for small private timber companies, large integrated forest products companies and a large timberland investment company. Jim started his career cruising timber in the Roseburg area and he quickly moved into higher levels of responsibility with an emphasis on silviculture and young stand management across all of western Oregon. Jim also has experience managing commercial thinning, hardwood conversion and final rotation harvests. He has extensive experience working with small woodland owners helping them plan and execute projects on their lands to meet their personal land management objectives.
